What does carbon neutrality look like in practice? How can an organisation be energy positive? Auroville Consulting’s Annual Sustainability Report for FY 2024–25 presents an overview of its environmental and organisational performance, with a specific focus on greenhouse gas emissions reduction, resource use, waste management, and workplace culture.
The intention of the report is to account for our operational carbon emissions, promote data transparency, and evaluate the effectiveness of our internal ESG and sustainability practices over the financial year. Our approach follows the methodology set by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ensuring standardised and comparable data. Carbon inventory includes Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, along with emissions reductions and offsets.
As of March 2025, Auroville Consulting recorded net-zero emissions for a 3rd time consecutively, with all gross emissions offset through renewable energy generation, modal shifts in transport, composting, and tree planting. This net zero strategy is core to our broader carbon management efforts. We also report on resource use (primarily water and material inputs), waste management, and insights from our internal Team Pulse survey. The report highlights progress made and identifies specific gaps for improvement across operational areas.
Auroville Consulting’s Impact: Key Highlights
1. Net emissions: 0 kg CO₂e. A robust net-zero strategy, over a ten year period, supported by meticulous data collection processes.
2. 100% of our grey-water was treated and reused in the community garden.
3. All our waste is segregated and recycled: All food waste was composted in the gardens, and solid waste segregated and sent to Ecoservice for recycling.
