WHAT IS Auroville Consulting
Auroville Consulting (AVC) is a unit of the non-profit organisation, Auroville Foundation. It means any profits generated by the Unit are re-deployed in the Unit or its parent organization (Auroville Foundation) and not paid to any individual or any external entity. The fundamental values for the basis of work and collaboration at Auroville Consulting are: equality, good will, passion and commitment. Opportunities
We are looking for a Building Energy Efficiency Expert to support the implementation of building energy efficiency initiatives. The role involves assisting the Technical Lead in updating procurement and construction specifications, implementing EcoNiwas Samhita, promoting passive cooling and thermal comfort, and engaging with private sector developers.

Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in energy-efficient building design, sustainable construction, or related fields. Familiarity with EcoNiwas Samhita, the India Cooling Action Plan (ICAP), or similar frameworks. Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in Tamil. We are looking for a Technical Lead who will spearhead urban planning initiatives under the Tamil Nadu Project Management Unit (PMU), supporting the implementation of the India Cooling Action Plan (ICAP). This position requires a deep understanding of urban planning frameworks and strong collaboration with government departments, private sector entities, and other key stakeholders.

We are looking for a GHG Emissions and Decarbonisation Analyst to support climate mitigation projects under initiatives like carbon markets and net-zero transitions in regions such as Tamil Nadu and beyond. This position requires a strong grasp of GHG accounting protocols (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISO 14064), decarbonisation roadmaps, team management, strong communication skills, and collaboration with government agencies, industries, and sustainability consultants.

Additional Information:
The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in GHG emissions accounting, decarbonisation advisory, or related fields, with expertise in carbon disclosure frameworks and sector-specific baselines (e.g., energy, land use). Proven track record of team management, strong communication with diverse stakeholders, and working with government bodies, corporates, and carbon market mechanisms. We are looking for a renewable energy policy analyst with knowledge in the Indian power sector and a strong background in policy and legal frameworks.
Responsibilities entail:
Research and monitor legislative, regulatory and policy trends relevant to the renewable energy sector.
Analyse complex technical and socio-economic problems.
Research and design of novel business and implementation models in particular for distributed renewable energy systems.
Undertake and oversee quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis using different research tools.
Prepare clearly written academic publications, analytical reports, and other forms of dissemination of research.
Correspond with stakeholders, present policy and regulatory alternative and create higher public awareness
Mentor and assist staff and early-stage researchers in the organization
Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this domain.
