Under the Smart City Program (2015), Auroville Consulting assisted the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) in their application for the Smart City initiative of the Ministry of Urban Development (MOU), in the area of energy. This included a strategy outline for energy consumption reduction (energy conservation and energy efficiency); a strategy for distributed renewable energy generation in combination with 24 x 7 grid supply. The strategies were supported by technical and financial plans to compute the baseline and forecast energy generation and consumption for different scenarios. The above were provided for the area-based development and pan-city solution that incorporated a minimum 10% solar energy (in energy terms).
