LeBracs Rubber Linings Private Limited, a manufacturing company in Pondicherry, decided in the financial year 2021-22 to quantify their progress post their previous emissions inventory in the financial year 2019-20. The company, established in 1989, manufactures patented anti-corrosive and anti-abrasive rubber lining materials. The rubber linings are used in carbon steel process equipment by the chemical manufacturing, water treatment, desalination and pollution control sectors. The company supplies to engineering companies and other manufacturing companies both domestically and internationally.

The study is put together using the guidelines of the globally-recognised GHG Protocol: Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and covers two scopes. The sources of emissions covered in the scopes are from fuel consumption, fugitive emissions during the use of air conditioners and grid-related emissions.

The report quantifies the overall reduction in consumption of raw materials, namely fuel and electricity and the related reduction in sector-wise emissions. The report highlights the progress of the organisation post their previous inventory and highlights further steps that can be undertaken.
