Smart Control of Rural Renewable Energy and Storage (SCORRES) was a research project consisting of the development and trialing of a cloud-based, micro-irrigation system on a farm in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, India. The aim was to produce financially viable, robust, location-specific irrigation systems for the Indian agricultural sector, delivering ‘right-time, right-volume’ irrigation to farms, reducing water & energy consumption, increasing crop yields & food nutrient content and improving soil condition. The project was funded by Innovate UK.
The partners in the SCORRES project were Heriot-Watt University, Auraventi, Findhorn Foundation College, Scene Connect (UK) and the Centre for Scientific Research, Buddha Garden, and Auroville Consulting.
